Are you interested in registering a group of students for after-school programming in the fall? Look no further! Bike New York offers free after school programs to schools and community organizations to teach youth safe bike riding and bike handling skills. We provide the bikes, you bring the kids! The fall session goes from September 23rd until October 25th.
This free program for existing after-school groups teaches students the mechanics of riding a bike, the rules of the road, best practices for riding in a group and on the streets, and–of course–the joy and freedom of biking.
Duration: 2 hours (1 slot available per day between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM)
Period: 5 weeks, one session per week, beginning September 24
Locations: St. Mary’s Park (The Bronx), Van Cortlandt Park (The Bronx), Crotona Park (The Bronx), Flushing Meadows-Corona Park (Queens), Forest Park (Queens), East River Park (Manhattan), Inwood Hill Park (Manhattan), El Barrio/East Harlem East River Playground (Manhattan), Linden Park (Brooklyn), McCarren Park (Brooklyn), and Roosevelt Island
Instructors: 2 trained instructors
Equipment: Bikes and helmets provided
Age Restrictions: Kids must be 10 years or older
Class Size: 10-15 kids (included counselors, whose attendance is required)
