Reconstruction of Manhattan approach ramps to the RFK Bridge

 

 

 

On September 12, 2012, design advisors Modjeski & Masters presented, to CB11 and the Harlem African Burial Ground Task Force, the Triborugh Bridge and Tunnel Authority's plans for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of three Manhattan approach ramps to the RFK (formerly Triborough) Bridge. 

 

The three ramps are the 125th Street off-ramp, the 125th Street on-ramp, and the ramp to and from the FDR Drive. 

 

This project is currently in the design phase with work anticipated to begin in 2014. 

 

 

Historical Perspectives Inc. prepared a monitoring protocol: for work associated with two potential historic cemeteries know to have been located in or adjacent to the project site. Their report is attached below.
