Survey: CB11 Retail Needs/Wants

East Harlem has a strong retail business base.  However, a report in 2004 found that the local retail stores only capture 17% of the potential business in the community.  This means that a large portion of money is being spent outside the community.  

The purpose of this survey is to help Community Board 11 find out why people shop in East Harlem or why residents choose to shop elsewhere. Community Board 11 is also interested in knowing what stores and services are lacking.   This information will allow the Community Board to make more informed decisions based around the community's needs.
