Committee Mission Statement:

The Economic Development Committee of Manhattan Community Board 11 (East Harlem) strives to enhance and establish economic opportunities for its residents and business owners. The committee seeks to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for the community by creating and retaining jobs, helping shape opportunities for our small business owners and fostering an atmosphere that encourages future generations to continue the work that has been initiated.

East Harlem Retail Analysis

East Harlem’s local retail is an essential part of its community. The corridors are home to various businesses ranging from a small perfume store to large, big-box stores like Costco. This diverse blend of retail mixed with a strong local character give the commercial corridors a true community feel.

State Liquor Authority (SLA) Sub-Committee

Chair: Edward Santos

CB 11 Liquor License Application Process:

Upon receipt of notification of an application for a new, renewal, transfer, upgrade, or alteration liquor license by the Community Board, applicants will be instructed to submit a completed Community Board 11 Liquor License Application Questionnaire. All applicants are required to return the completed questionnaire to the Community Board within 15 days of receipt of its mailing. 

Depending on your application status, your business may need to present to the SLA Subcommittee for a thorough review of your application questionnaire and SLA application.

SLA Sub-committee meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month. The office must be informed of withdrawals at least 2 days prior to the SLA Sub-committee meeting.
