The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) announces a public review period for its revised Public Involvement Plan (PIP).
The review period begins on Monday, April 1, 2019 and ends on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
The revised PIP recommends strategies to accomplish NYMTC’s public involvement goals, consistent with federal requirements, including strategies to enhance NYMTC’s outreach to traditionally underserved communities.
Goal 1: Provide a robust, creative, and inclusive outreach process for all populations within the region, with opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions between NYMTC and the public about transportation planning issues.
Goal 2: Educate the public so they can purposefully participate, know when to provide input, and be encouraged to do so.
Goal 3: Evaluate current and ongoing public involvement activities on a periodic basis to identify successes and areas for improvement.
