NYC Streets Plan

On June 23, 2021, the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) began engagement for the New York City Streets Plan (NSP) through the launch of the linked project page and interactive planning module.

The NSP, developed in response to the Council’s “Streets Master Plan” legislation (Local Law 195), seeks to improve the safety, accessibility, and quality of the City’s streets for all New Yorkers. It will involve an in-depth analysis of the current planning efforts and will set equitable and ambitious goals for the City’s streets.

In addition to the feedback gained through the online module, DOT will also be hosting a series of virtual workshops beginning in July.

Please see a full schedule here: NYC Streets Plan Virtual Public Workshops Calendar

These virtual workshops will, in addition to soliciting broad feedback about how to best prioritize NYC streets, also seek input regarding the specific usage/priorities of your local streets. The public is welcome to participate in any of the workshops, even those outside of the person’s home or work geography.

DOT hopes to hear from the public through both the module and the workshops so that they can better understand the specific needs of community members in regards to NYC streets.
