Traffic Diverted at Three MTA Crossings Sunday for Bike MS 2019

The City’s Bike MS 2019 event on Sunday, October 20th will impact motorists who normally use the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Henry Hudson Bridge and Hugh L. Carey Tunnel. Although event participants do not utilize any of these crossings, motorist access will be impacted. Motorists should be aware of the closures and use alternate routes.

Henry Hudson Bridge, Southbound to Manhattan

7 a.m. to Noon: There will be no access to the southbound Henry Hudson Bridge heading into Manhattan.

RFK Bridge

7 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Due to closures on the northbound FDR Drive, traffic will not be able to access the RFK Bridge from the northbound FDR Drive as cyclists make their way to the Harlem River Drive from the FDR. In addition, traffic exiting the RFK Harlem River lift span at East 126th Street will not be able to access the entrance to the Harlem River Drive.

Hugh L. Carey Tunnel

6:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.: Due to closures on southbound West Street, all traffic exiting the tunnel into Manhattan will be detoured northbound onto West Street or through the Trinity Place exit, which will remain open. The Battery Park Underpass to the FDR Drive and southbound West Street will be closed.
