Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
The Youth & Education Committee advocates for funding, programs, and policies that support youth to secure a college education, careers of their own choosing, and economic stability for them and their families. Our educational activities should seek to encompass all learners including English as Second Language learners & special needs learners. We advocate for academic excellence and knowledge of social justice issues in our community. We seek to develop and maintain positive relationships with all local schools, colleges, and Community Based Organizations to assist our schools in getting needed city services. We strive to give a direct voice to the youth of this community and to assist youth groups in any way possible consistent with our mission.
The following board members serve on this committee:
David Giordano – Chair
Yolanda Brown – Vice-Chair
Thomas Herrera (staff liaison)
