The Community Board Member application and selection process for each of Manhattan’s 12 Community Districts is managed entirely by the Manhattan Borough President’s Office.
If you live or work in one of Manhattan’s 12 community districts, you’re eligible to apply for membership.
Public Members are allowed to join vote on an assigned Committee, but not at meetings of the Full Board. It’s a great way to test the waters before becoming a full Board Member.
All NYC Community Board and Committee meetings are open to the public. Listen to City leaders and local experts, engage with your neighbors, ask questions, and contribute ideas that move the District forward for all. Each meeting provides time for public comments on agenda topics, and new topics may be raised.
