The District Attorney of New York County (DANY) is seeking proposals for a Summer 2025 Gun Violence Prevention Initiative (GVPI).
This initiative aims to address gun violence in New York City, particularly during the summer months when incidents spike. DANY seeks to empower CBOs to engage at-risk youth through meaningful programming, fostering positive connections that deter violence. The initiative will provide CBOs funding to support incentivizing youth and young adults who are at high risk of committing and/or falling victim to gun violence to participate in meaningful programming.
Awards will be administered to organizations that operate in and/or can demonstrate the ability to identify and successfully engage young people at risk of gun violence in high-impact neighborhoods, including:
- Washington Heights/Inwood
- Harlem/East Harlem
- Lower East Side
- NYCHA developments including Douglas, Amsterdam, and Wise Towers
Award amount:
DANY anticipates issuing GVPI awards totaling up to $300,000, which may include any combination of single-entity awards at $25,000 each and/or joint awards at $60,000 each, depending on the quality of applications and other factors.
